“Brand Ambassador”

So, Great News: I was recently named Brand Ambassador for my Favorite bakery! It’s kind of a Big Deal (to me). My friends laugh at me because they, and anyone who follows me on social media, know how much I Absolutely Love this bakery. I am always checking in (via Facebook and Instagram) at this bakery as I pick up my delectable treats. One of my Facebook friends even commented that they need to pay me for all the advertising I do for them.

As I chuckled at myself and my “newfound fame,” I thought about how being a Brand Ambassador is not new to me.

When you think about what a Brand Ambassador really is…

A Brand Ambassador is a person who represents a brand in a positive light, and by doing so, helps increase brand awareness and sales.

So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” 2 Corinthians 5:20 NLT

I have been doing this for the Kingdom of God for about 14 years. I remember when I first received the free gift of salvation, I told everyone. I was excited about this God who saved me. I wanted everyone to come to Him and get to know Him. I wanted everyone to receive this free gift. That’s a Brand Ambassador.

As I continue to grow in faith and mature spiritually, I not only tell people about God and all the wonderful things He wants to do in their lives, but they are able to witness it in my life. They see me striving (even though I make mistakes) to live a life that is pleasing to Him, and they see His unmerited favor all over my life. As I continue to strive to be the Best Brand Ambassador for His Kingdom, God is allowing others to see the benefits that I reap.

Now, my challenge to you this week is to ask yourself, “Am I a Good Brand Ambassador for the Kingdom of God?” Answer yourself honestly. Do your coworkers, family, and friends know that you are a Born-again Believer? Do they see your fruit (of the Spirit)? Is your life compelling people to come and ask, “What must I do to be saved?” If not, do something about it. Don’t miss this: I am not telling you to live a life that is pleasing to men. I am reminding you to live the life God has called you to live.

So, That Settles It. This is your reminder: You are a Brand Ambassador, and the world is watching you. Show them what they are missing. Let your life represent God in a positive light and help increase awareness of His Goodness, His Mercy, His Grace, and His lovingkindness towards us; thus increasing souls being added to the Kingdom.

And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 2 Corinthians 5:18 NLT

“YOU ARE The FIRST!”

Have you ever found yourself questioning how you are going to reach your destiny, when you have no one to show you? Do you pray and ask God to send someone into your life who can show you the way? Does it seem like your prayers are not being heard, like God is ignoring you? Trust me, He heard you.

What if there is no one who can show you the way? What if I told you the reason there is no one to show you is because YOU ARE The FIRST? That’s right, you heard me; YOU Are The First!

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Hopefully, this explains some of the frustration you have been experiencing. You want to make sure you are heading in the right direction. You know you are destined for greatness, but, if you are anything like me, you have spent the majority of your life trying to follow a path that hasn’t been created yet. You know there’s more, but you don’t know how to achieve it. That’s because YOU have to create it! It hasn’t been seen because you haven’t fully dreamed it. It hasn’t been heard because YOU haven’t spoken it. It hasn’t entered into anyone else’s heart because YOU haven’t conceived it…Yet!

You may wonder how this will happen, if God hasn’t shown you what “It” is. If you are honest, you may have seen glimpses, and you may have even dismissed them because you have never seen it done. That’s the beauty of it. God will give you a vision so BIG that it seems too BIG for you, but you don’t have to worry, He will send you all the help you need. When you work with Him and trust Him, Nothing is impossible; and when you accomplish it, just think about how much Glory it will bring to His Holy name, causing more people to believe.

Everything you have been through, up to this very second, has been preparation for what God wants to do through you. He had to do the work IN you first, so that you will yield to Him, and now allow Him to work THROUGH you. I know being the “First” at anything can be scary. How will you know if you are doing it right? How do you know you are hearing from God? How should it look? Who will it help? Trust the process.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you (John 14:26).

So, That Settles It. Get ready. The world has been waiting for YOU! You are a trailblazer, a trendsetter. You will do mighty exploits in the earth. You will pave the way for many. A multitude of people will be blessed because you dared to do it “First.” Your name is being made great! YOU Are The First!

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing (Genesis 12:2 ESV).

“No Matter What”

There is a passage of scripture in the Bible that really blesses me:

I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. God is not the God of the dead, but of the living (Matthew 22:32).

If you have a chance, you really should take some time and read about Jacob in the Bible (Genesis 25-35). Jacob was considered a deceiver (deceiving his own father early in his life). Later on in his life, he is seen wrestling with the Angel of God. His name was changed to Israel, and he spent the remainder of his life serving God. I began to ponder Jacob’s life, and I came to this conclusion: No Matter What we have done, God still loves us and He is still our God. Isn’t that wonderful? Just take a few moments and reflect back over your life. Think about all the bad, evil, mean, and cold-hearted things you have done. Think about the things for which you still haven’t forgiven yourself. Think about the things that you hope no one ever finds out about you, or your past. Now think about this: In spite of ALL of that, He still wants to be your God! Doesn’t this just give you so much hope and joy? I know my joy is refilled when I think about it. After all, I know ME, and I know what I’ve done (and so does He), yet He still loves me. That’s a great reason to Rejoice!

I can think of countless people who turned their backs on me because of some of the dumb and cruel things I have done, but He hasn’t and He won’t. Now, this doesn’t give us a free pass to go and willfully sin and live an immoral life, but it does give us solace to know that No Matter What we have done, God will never leave us nor forsake us. Even when we turn our backs on Him (usually in an attempt to hide in shame), He is still right there.

Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,” even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you (Psalm 139:7-12 ESV).

Now, brace yourself. It is important to note that, just as God loves us, He also loves the people who have wronged us. God will forgive them (when they ask) just as He has forgiven us. He will not stop loving them because they hurt us. There are consequences for wrong decisions (no one is exempt), but His Grace is sufficient for us all. So, don’t expect God to hate someone because they hate you, because He won’t. He loves them too, No Matter What. Remember, He is our example. He’s showing us how it’s done. His desire is that we too love our enemies.

So, That Settles It. Be encouraged. No Matter What you have done up to this very second, God still loves you. Ask for His forgiveness. Thank Him for His Grace. Repent and turn away from those things that you know are wrong. Forgive yourself, and walk in the “Newness of Life,” that He has promised us all.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV).

“Wasted Freedom”

Independence Day, a day we celebrate our freedom, our liberty. Today is a very important day in the history of this great country; and while we are celebrating with family and friends and cookouts, let’s not forget the many brave souls who fought for our freedom. Which leads me to the purpose of this week’s blog post, a question actually: What are YOU doing with your freedom? Freedom is one of the most costly gifts we can ever receive (it’s not free, someone paid/sacrificed that we might be free). It would be such a shame to live a life of Wasted Freedom. What do I mean, you ask?

As stated in our Declaration of Independence: We ALL are created equal. We may have differences, but we ALL have been given (by our Creator) the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Are you taking advantage of these liberties that have been given unto you?

We ALL have a right to life – Are you living your best life? Are you living life to the fullest, or are you merely existing?

We ALL have a right to liberty – Are you living freely, or are you still bound by hate (whether of self or others), regrets, past failures, low self-worth, fear, or etc.?

We ALL have a right to the pursuit of happiness – Are you pursuing happiness, or are you waiting for it to fall into your lap? Pursuit requires something of you. Find what makes you happy, relentlessly pursue it, and don’t let it go.

Now, let me ask you this? Do you believe these rights are only for people YOU think deserve it, or do you believe these rights should be extended to ALL mankind, regardless of race, religion, sex, socioeconomic status, or etc.?

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36

Let us not forget that Christ died that we (ALL) might be free; free from a life of sin and death. Also, let’s not forget the many souls dating back centuries, who gave their lives that this gospel we preach might be spread throughout the world. What are you doing with it? Are you a Christian living a life of Wasted Freedom? It’s there for you, but are you taking advantage of it? Or are you guilty of using your freedom as an excuse to rebel against God and His commandments, and to mistreat and demean people who are not like you? Because we are free, we should endeavor to help liberate those who are still bound. We can do this by demonstrating the love of Christ to every person we encounter; thus showing them that He is the Way to a life of true freedom.

Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. 1 Peter 2:16 ESV

So, That Settles It. No more living a life of Wasted Freedom! Make a difference. Start today. Let’s use our freedom for the greater good. Let’s show love and help set the captives free. It’s up to us to show them The Way.

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:13-14 ESV

Happy Independence Day!
